A Jolly Good Day
Today was a good day for British comedy.
Much to my delight, my computer FINALLY had a specific video codec installed and I was able to enjoy (in both sound AND video) my greatly anticipated LOOK AROUND YOU series. Later on in the day I made some good headway on a series which my "boss" actually lent and recommended to me; The Office. I had heard much good about The Office from other sources and of course, as with all British comedy, I was not left disappointed.
After that I preceeded to go tag-team shopping with my mum and sister (aka one destracts and the other loads the cart with all good things) and the sum came to an appalling sum of money. Upon returning home I determined taking the dog out for a long walk would be an ideal task to escape the wrath that should be inflicted on me for coming shopping.
It was about 11 o'clock (23 o'clock for those of you who may prefer military timing!) by the time we set out and we headed over to the back lane. I ended up discarding my shoes and Char's leash and running all along the burm to the lake. Running barefoot, laying in the grass next to my dog, starring up at the stars, cartwheels, scrunching my toes up in the grass and escaping the cacophony of regular city street lights. It all seemed very pastoral-or, let me rephrase that, about as pastoral as it appears to get in Winnipeg suburbia.
Anyway, we ran back to the shoes and leash and eventually departed back for home, but part way through I decided my feet were a) too hot in shoes and b) happier out of captivity so I opted again for no shoes. See, this is my theory: We have the Envirothon competition coming up next week and instead of freaking out and/or pouring all my time into studying the binders, I'll just learn from Mother Earth herself via the diffusion of Earth-knowledge. This is actually so logical I made I diagram.
